Harmon Specialties is a family owned and operated company created by Dustin and Kate Harmon in 2021. Our company mission is founded on basic concepts that are becoming more difficult to find in small residential, commercial, and agricultural contractors. The concepts listed below are instrumental to our business model and allow the client’s needs to be met with integrity.

The Harmons
Dustin and Kate Harmon were raised in a small town in North Central Missouri. After high school Dustin obtained a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and Kate obtained a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Rockhurst University.
Following college, Kate worked for a Kansas City area school district as an Occupational Therapist. Dustin worked for a Kansas City area commercial general contractor as a project/site manager for four years. He then took a job with a Kansas City based Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) firm in their construction group and primarily worked on heavy industrial projects. He worked as a project manager for approximately 12 years, with 10 of those years on field assignments. Dustin then served 10 years working in their Field Construction Operations group. Dustin retired in 2023 after 22 years with the firm. Dustin and Kate have three sons and have lived in the Platte City, MO area since 2007.
